Unemployment in Poland 2016

The economic growth of Poland has been increasing during the last years, even in the last financial crisis, being the only country of the European Union to show positive numbers during this time.

Total Numbers

In the last statistic study published by EuroStat, the unemployment rate in Poland is 6.9% of the total population, during the last year this number has been decreasing by 1%. Thanks to this the unemployment rate is below the average of the European Union that is 8.9%.

The country with the highest unemployment rate is Spain with 20.5%, followed by Croatia with 16.4% and Cyprus with 15.3%.

In Poland, the total unemployment rate within the male population is 6.6%, and in the case of the female population is 7.3%

Population younger than 25 years old

The unemployment rate on the population younger than 25 years old is 20.4%, and this number is also below the average on the European Union with 22.1%

The country with the highest youth unemployment rate is also Spain with 45%, followed by Italy with 39.3% and Portugal with 29.9%.

In Poland, the percentage of unemployment rate of the male population on this age range  is 20.5% and in the case of female population is just 20.3%.

Population between 25 and 74 years old

In Poland this group age has an unemployment rate of 5.8%, much lower than the average in the European Union that is 9.3%.

The EU countries with the highest unemployment rate on this age group is Spain, Cyprus and Croatia with 18.8%, 14% y 13.9% respectively.

In Poland, the percentage of unemployment rate of the male population on this age range  is 5.3% and in the case of female population is 6.3%.

General Overview

The European countries with the lowest unemployment rate are Iceland (3.2%), Germany (4.3%) and Czech Republic (4.5%)

The European countries with lowest unemployment rate within the male population are Iceland (3.5%), Czech Republic (3.7%) and Germany (4.6%)

The European countries with lowest unemployment rate within the female population are Iceland (2.8%), Germany (4%) and Malta (4.9%)
